Cracked and CrookedA Poem by Ms. Leefffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff eh.
I'm going to fail,
But I'm still gonna smile. I'm about to break, But it might take awhile. My porcelain mask, Under which I rot, Holds back the maggots Which are my thoughts. My pleasant demeanor, With patience and grace, Hides away the stench Of my infected face. I'm slipping, I'm cracking; And soon they'll all know! Who I was is a fake, It was all just for show. First they'll see my words, Bleeding from my throat. Then they'll hear my anger, As I grip tight my coat. Maybe they'll taste my pain, Hidden on my tongue. Or they'll watch my fall, And say I was so young. They can already tell, They can already see; The thousand tiny cracks That make up all of me. © 2014 Ms. Lee |
