Staring at her.A Poem by Ruben DiasI just felt like writing this.Staring at her, I can’t help this silly smile That sticks in my face, while my mind runs wild. I try to reach for her. I swear, I do, Only to find that the distance between us It’s too deep. I find myself talking to my ceiling. I wish you could hear me. And I imagine you there, by my side, While I tell to the walls what’s on my mind. You. Of course, I can’t think about anything else. And then you show up. And you are actually there. And you kiss me. And you hug me. And you tell me what I wanted to tell you. Pain rushes in my veins, spreading to my body. Because It’s just a dream, and I know it. But I’m so emerged in it that I let myself go And I drink every drop of my imagination. I find myself being a lunatic. A crazy man. Talking alone, imagining angels on my side. And trying to reach them. But one day, soon, I will not be a crazy man anymore. I will be with a real angel. And I’ll finally reach you. Until then, I will have to keep imagining, Because that’s what keeps me alive. © 2011 Ruben DiasAuthor's Note
