Chapter 3 - Ruba's POV

His eyes met mine and tingles spread through my body and when he said ‘Mate’ I felt my stomach twist, whether it’s from excitement or fear I don’t know, but that moment, the only thing that I thought of was ‘It can’t be me. It can’t be me, right?’ However, I didn’t have to think that way anymore, for a moment later, he pulled me in his arms and embraced me, I could feel his heart beating miles an hour, while mine was silent; I could hear his breath muttering ‘Mine.’ Over and over again, whereas mine was heavy and fast with fear and anxiousness.

“Get away from her!” Ruby roared and pulled me away from him, her brown eyes darkening with anger. At this action the king started to growl ‘bad Idea’ I though and clutched on Ruby’s hand harder. Lilli came to her side and hid me behind their backs.

“Give her back to me, rouge!” He growled using his alpha tone, however, Ruby didn’t back down, she tightened her grip on me, her eyes showing defiance.

“NO! I won’t let you take her away from us! I won’t be this stupid again!” She growled back and that apparently angered him even more. His canines started to grow and his eyes were changing between brown and gold, and I had the urge to go to him, to comfort him. Which felt weird, because the only people I felt this way for are my family, Lilli and Ruby.

“I have to go to him.” I whispered to Ruby, and she only shook her head and tightened her grip on me. Lilli then looked at us then looked at the alpha king, begrudgingly she separated Ruby’s hand from me. And I slowly approached the Alpha King. Half way there he pulled me into his arms, and that moment guards entered.

“Take them away.” He calmly commanded, with me still in his arms. I started panicking when I heard his command. The guards started pulling Ruby and Lilli, even though (surprisingly) Lilli went calmly, Ruby was not.

“If you harm her in anyway I’ll come after you! Even though you’re these b******s king you’re not mine! You hear me! I’ll kill you if anything happens to her!” I roared still struggling but surprisingly not shifting. I could tell the guards were having trouble pulling her, for now six guards were trying to pull her away. “Let me go you, son of a b***h!”

“What are you doing?! Let them go!” I struggled against his grip.

“Stop struggling! I’m trying to protect you from these filthy beings!” He growled back. However, what he said made me forget my fear and let my anger fuel. I could feel my demon, Janus, gaining control, for even though my demon enjoys killing the only people she won’t kill and rather protect are Ruby and Lilli.

“Don’t call them that.” Janus growled, gaining control of my body and I let her.

“Don’t let your demon gain control. I don’t want to hurt you.” He whispered, but I was far from listening.

“Let them go.” She growled, still trying to be calm.

“They’ll harm you if I let them go! I won’t let you get harmed.” He growled back, tightening his hold on me.

“Janus!” I heard Ruby call and my attention went to her. “Relax, we’re fine, don’t worry. He won’t kill us. He’ll just lock us. Let Ruba gain back control.”

“No! I won’t accept that! I will never accept that!” I felt my body shifting into its demonic state. The king tightened his grip on me.

“No, don’t do this to me. Don’t let me hurt you.” He whispered pleading, his voice showing his pain and struggle.

“Janus! If you don’t relax, he’ll harm Ruba! He’ll harm us!” I could hear Ruby’s voice from far. I finished shifting and got out of his hold. Right that moment, I blacked out. Resulting in Janus taking complete control of our body.

I slowly gained back my vision, I looked around me and saw that I was in a room. ‘Where am I? What happened?’ I thought. I tried to move my hand but I couldn’t, I looked at them and saw that they were restricted by a vampire chain spell.

I tried to remember what happened, only to result in blurry scenes,

“Don’t let your demon gain control. I don’t want to hurt you.”,

“No! I won’t accept that! I will never accept that!”,

.

“No, don’t do this to me. Don’t let me hurt you.”,

.

“Janus! If you don’t relax, he’ll harm Ruba! He’ll harm us!”

‘Ruby and Lilli!’ I tried to get out of the chains again. The only thought I had was to go get Ruby and Lilli. ‘Please god let them be alright! Please don’t let them get hurt!’ I heard the door open and struggled even more.

“Stop struggling. You won’t be able to break them.” This person said but I kept struggling. “I said stop!” He repeated and held me back. I looked straight into his eyes, they looked pained, they held so much guilt and regret that I almost stopped struggling. Key word: Almost. I knew I was his mate. I knew that to him, I had to love him and show affection towards him. However, the only thing I felt towards him is hate, anger and disgust, my fear disappearing the moment he ordered to take Ruby and Lilli to the cells. They’re my coven. My clan. My pack.

“I’ll struggle! I’ll struggle against you until I get out! Until I get my coven back!” I yelled, my anger rising but I couldn’t feel my demon. “What did you do the them?! What did you do to Janus?!”

“I did what had to be done.” Was his reply before he turned away left the room. I felt the chains loosening they disappeared. Moments later, I started feeling Janus again and my senses intensified. My instincts showing me where to find Ruby and Lilli. And I did what I felt I should do. I jumped out of the window.

I ran through the forest, following an invisible trail to the dungeon until I reached a door. I tried opening it but, surprise, surprise, it was locked so I did the alternative way and broke the door. I was met with a surprised Ruby and Lilli and a bunch of dead guards on the floor.

“It worked!” Ruby said excited, and jumped on me knocking me to the ground.

“Of course it did you, idiot.” Lilli rolled her eyes at Ruby the jumped on us.

“Oomph! S**t get off me b*****s! I can’t breathe!” I said hitting both of their heads. The stood up grinning from ear to ear. “And what worked?”

“Well, when we were lock away, Lilli thought that the Damon probably let a witch put a chain spell on you, so that you don’t escape and tried to chant a spell to break any spell in the palace, but after two hours nothing happened,” Ruby started as we started walking towards the end of the territory.

“Then Ruby got the idea of yelling the spell. I personally thought it was stupid and it might attract guards’ attention, she said that that was the point and plus they would think I’m insane, which totally worked.” Lilli laughed causing us to laugh with her. When we reached the end of the territory Ruby stopped and looked at me.

“What’s wrong?” I asked. She looked worried and hesitate but said what’s on her mind anyways,

“I know that I’m going to regret this but… I don’t think we should leave.” She answered. We looked at her dumbfounded at what she said.

“What do you mean? Don’t you hate him? Didn’t he try to lock you up and kill Janus?” I asked. However, she smiled and shook her head. “Why are you smiling?”

“He did lock us up, but he didn’t do anything to Janus. Whenever she tried to attack he would just avoid her, and when he shifted he just held her down and ordered the guards to let us go and cam her down.” She explained. “And plus, you are mates. You may not realize this now but… If we leave now, you’ll regret it. As much as I hate him, I won’t let you get hurt.” She added looking straight into my eyes, confident at what she said.

“I won’t regret. I hate him. I don’t want to be with him.” I replied not convinced.

“So… are we leaving or not?” Lilli asked looking between us.

“I won’t let you.” I heard the voice that I dreaded the most.

“What is it to you?” My voice held loath in it towards him.

“You’re my mate. My queen. I won’t let you leave. They can but not you.” He replied, specks of gold swirled in his brown eyes.

“Ha. Queen my a*s. If she stays, we stay. And you have no say in that.” Ruby replied clearly amused at this somehow tense atmosphere.

“Back down rouge!” One of the guards snarled.

“I can’t believe the almighty king lets mere guards defend his status.” Ruby smirked, looking at the king. His eyes turned golden, and he started to growl at her.

“Damon! The person I wanted to meet.” A voice said behind us. Me and Lilli turned, whereas Ruby kept looking at the king. “I see you’ve got company.” This person said smirking then his sight turned to Ruby. “Still stubborn as ever Damon, aren’t you?”

“Go the palace, King Clay.” Damon growled, averting his attention to the new comer.

The next chapter will be a diary. And I know I didn't mention it before, but after every three or four POVs, there will be a diary. Who's POV is it?? Who wrote it??? That's for me to know and you to find out.
