Sometimes It RainsA Poem by DuttonJ
It's raining outside.
It's really pouring down judging by the dull roar. I focus my mind, Shoving everything away but the Sound of clouds letting loose. My mind clears, But I am still far from calm. Lingering emotions clog my Soul and Mind, Even though their cause is, At this moment, Absent. Why can't I just let this go?! The sky's weeping is not a Gentle thing. It is a Roll of thunder, a Crash of lightning, a Celestial tantrum, a Heaving sob. I join the storm in its Rolling and Crashing and Heaving. My voice has already been Denied, So I offer it in sacrifice to the heavens. My hopes have already been Torn, So I retrieve them from my Scattered thoughts and Shred them further into Indistinguishable Bits. They flow from my hands with Tears, whether Mine or the Sky's, I know not. With their release, The storm abates. The sky lightens. Through the clouds I catch a glimpse of the sun. Drops still fall, But that's alright. Together, The tears and the rain wash everything away. © 2015 DuttonJReviews
