When a League ends, characters migrate to their respective eternal modes. This system keeps the game dynamic and engaging. Character Classes PoE 2 introduces twelve base classes, with two classes for each attribute combination (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and their hybrids): Strength: Marauder (Axes), Warrior (Maces) Dexterity: Ranger (Bows), Huntress (Spears) Intelligence: Witch (Minions/Occult Spells), Sorceress (Elemental Spells) Strength/Dexterity: Duelist (Swords), Mercenary (Crossbows) Intelligence/Dexterity: Shadow (Daggers and Traps), Monk (Unarmed and Quarterstaves) Strength/Intelligence: Templar (Flails), Druid (Shapeshift Spells) Characters in PoE are not limited by their class's starting weapon or ability. For example, a Marauder can use fireball spells, and a Duelist can use bows. However, choosing a class that matches your desired build will make progression easier. Ascendancy Classes Each base class has three Ascendancy Classes, offering specializations that provide powerful bonuses and define your build. Ascendancy Classes will have a small passive tree with significant, build-defining bonuses.
