Kisses

Which kiss will you be?

I've had the lips of others cover mine
In wet soggy moments awkwardly applied
At moments that seemed inappropriate and uncomfortable

I've felt the softness
Of desire that electrofied my light and mouthed my shadows
Caressed my body in waves applied with passion

I've felt the kisses if dismissal
The ones given to end a sentence only half spoken
A sentiment only partially meant

I've felt the face of another pressed against mine
A happy reunion of a precious one
Too long parted and then returned

I've been kissed by the eyelashes of little ones
Who know not how to manipulate or request
Only love so pure and true

I've tasted the tongues
That whispered lies to my ears
And told me fables of delight

And even kissed the faces
Of secret enemies that waited in dark shadows
To take me by surprise

But as for the kisses that truly i desire
Can come only from the one who truly knows my substance
And in that moment will press against my lips and absorb my soul

Yep, they can be awkward, embarrassing, uncomfortable, unwanted..
But as you say when with the one you love, beautiful.
Used to love snogging the faces off the pretty birds at the local " hops" back in the day, God only knows what they used to say about me to their friends

Ahhh, but you didn't wear too tight trousers that showed just exactly how much you enjoyed the experience !!
Once even prematurely " arrived" whilst slow dancing with a right old tease, lights came on, she walked off leaving me with an ever increasing wet patch spreading across the front of my jeans....most embarrassing moment of my life, well, that and me trying to stop the maids from coming into my holiday apartment when I was mid shag with my now wife. The maids got to the door just before I did, them leaving, screaming down the hallway at the sight of my exposed, West pointing manhood.

especially like this line:
"Of desire that electrofied my light and mouthed my shadows " ...loved reading "...elec tro fied ..." it gave me a distinct persona ... now saying it a few more times i am reminded of the "Grease" song

almost a life in review from the point of kisses ..pretty creative says i! in this line: "I've felt the kisses if dismissal" do you mean Of dismissal? i think there is a lot more potential in this poem for color passion and sensuality .. but that's just me ...kisses are kisses after all ... i am also drawn to V7 .. an aspect i would never have considered .. but now am pondering over it ..its a pretty revealing verse i think .. on humanity actually ..glad i stopped to visit

Kisses are supposed to be the shaking of a stranger's hand in search for a welcoming heart! If that's the case, you've captured so many kinds of kisses so beautifully, so accurately!

I really like this poem. I like the imagery implemented on this one. "wet soggy" Oooooo, very detailed. It's very well-structured; 8 stanzas and 3 lines each. The tone shift in stanza 7 line 2 is astonishing. Well done!
