I Set You Free

I Set You Free

A Poem by Nihad Dweidary

I set you free
to emerge, to vanish,
like the casual angel
who rests upon my shoulder,
to search the heavenlies
for words of deliverance
and feast your soul
upon the honeyed nectar of proximity.

I set you free
to travel across a continuum
of timeless dunes of spherical dust,
and orbs that space can not define,
to poise yourself,
atop of glistening desert triangles
burning in the solvent sun
of distant, meandering thought.

I give to you anointed passage
toward a cryptic key clairvoyant
to unlock the many secrets
of the world and its endless splendor,
to burn these heavy coals
that fuel the furnace in your heart
until it is pieced collectively
in mosaic with my own.

The greatest one can give another is the freedom to find their authentic self. Not to be threatened by it, but to celebrate it.

Only those who truly sit and familiarize themselves with their surroundings could put forth such a "natural" piece. Words are granted like gifts. The more you experience, the more vocabulary you acquire. Not just words of high definition... but descriptions of high definition.

Very nice.

This poem - like all your others, is beautiful.

' .. burning in the solvent sun / of distant, meandering thought. '

I swear you're a merman who lures reader's into his own oceanic world!

You certainly have a way with words, that's for sure. Thank you for sharing them ..

Loving your work as always...

freedom which voluntarily surrenders itself to another's keeping is expressing the ultimate confidence.
