Asylum

Asylum

A Poem by Nihad Dweidary
"

Dedicated to she who inspires...

"

Curvaceous as a moon in bloom

Is your body to my spirit,

Desire morphed into love

And aspersed with saintly scent.

With you senses find

An asylum heaving with fire;

They surge and billow

Like Poseidons of the Sea.

When nights become an entourage

Of the heart, I lie with you,

Spheres lost in wonderment

Of a dream etched in a dream.

A dream etched in a dream - such a concept! You've chosen your words very well and forced us to look at the alternate meanings of terms we have attached less than romantic associations - such as asylum, entourage, and Poseidon. I think the tension such choices have envoked within this " classical" profession of passion make it unique and more intriguing.

I had to read this three times to really understand this in any capacity because I kept getting lost in the beauty of the language. Ah, such craft! Your descriptions are excellent and your imagery is gorgeous and you leave it just open-ended enough for some interesting interpretations. Manifique!

I really liked the expression, reminds me of inresdtricted 12 line prose,
yet you've managed to keep your line breaks in perfect balance,
Excellent poem, thanks for sharing this gem.

Tasty. For a lack of a better word, your words as simply tasty. Vivid imagery, that paints a picture that speaks more than a thousand words. A treat to my senses. Thank you for this...

Smooth, peaceful, undeniable love.
The lines of your poem drift softly, like a paper boat on a stream. Lovely.
' When nights become an entourage / Of the heart, ' - sweet and great phrase.
Truly look forward to reading more of your work some time.
Thank you for sharing.

( Delightful photos! )

Sigh! You once wrote of sad unwrittens. How sad that your volume of work was deleted along with so many others. One poem yet remains as a reminder of your inner beauty, a dream etched in a dream.

"There is a degree in sadness that is close to sacredness, about which I won't write, so you don't have to read."

I've missed you.

the rhythm is so slow that I've got the impression of hearing waves - it's maybe because of the "s" sounds too. I don't know. Good job though!
