Aquaphobia

Aquaphobia

A Chapter by Royal Borealis

The sea is vast, and sometimes frightening. As the boy stared out at the water curiously, he noticed the waves getting rougher. His parents and older sister were at the dock, waiting to see the ship off. But not him.
He'd rather watch the waves. The land where the ship was going was slightly inhabited, but many people still wished to go. His family wanted to go as well. He thought he would be fine not matter where he was.
As the boy looked out at the vast ocean, the rock he sat on grew cold. His shoes, felt almost wet. It took him quite some time for him to realize what was going on, and when he managed, It was already to late.
A large wave knocked him back. The boy went flying in the air. He crashed into a rock wall behind him, and as he did, he felt his stomach turn. He hit the ground once more with a loud thud
His head was spinning, and he was rather dazed. He was barely paying attention to the water, which surrounded him, and pulled him toward sea. His vision was blurred, and out of place, but he did somehow manage to see the waves enclose him.
The water was murky, and the boy could barely see. He tried to resurface, and head for shore. When he reached the surface of the cold waters, he saw that the ship, which was docked before he fell in, was now off, and crashed through the water. Waves rolled through towards him, and tugged him under once more.
As he tried to resurface, something, or someone grabbed his leg, and tried to pull him deeper into the black waters. The boy struggled to free himself, but his efforts were futile.
He couldn't hold his breath for much longer, and just when he thought we was going to drown, whatever was latched onto his ankle, it loosened its grip. He pushed off the sand floor below him, and darted to the surface of the water.
He finally managed to get air once more, he tried making it to shore once more. He crawled through the sand, and sat behind the rock. The boy heard waves crashing on the other side of the rock, as he tried to calm down after the traumatizing experience.
Just then, the waves, once again, crashed against the rock. But this time, the water went over the rock, and tried to swallow him once more. As the murky water hit the boy's face, Toby woke up.

About
Oh boy. I haven't used this sight in two years. I'm gonna be putting short stories I write in school. I'm too lazy to actually get rid of the cringe-fest I wrote two years ago so if you ever need help.. more..
