The note he had found in his locker almost confused him, but he had lived in the same house as the note's bearer for about four years now. It said: Meet me at the bus stop at Clover Rd. I know you love it when people rant about stuff. ~Mint
Pumpkin did find a strange satisfaction when others were aggravated, it was very strange indeed. Another thing strange about 13 year old Pumpkin, was where he lived, and who he lived with. They were freaks, a bunch of torn-up mental maniacs. Pumpkin had no place with them, and they wouldn't hurt him if he tried to leave. Yet, Pumpkin stayed, better yet, he encouraged the terrible things they did. Maybe he was afraid if he didn't, they would be mad at him? Maybe he was also insane? Maybe and most likely, it was because they were his family, when his own didn't care. Pumpkin saw the bus stop nearing, a small smile grew on his pale face. He picked up his pace, even though he was a quick walker anyway. Then he heard something behind him, a twig snapping perhaps? Minutes later he found out what it was. Three of the school's baddest bullies stood in his way. Pumpkin not always for violence brushed their threatening glares aside. "Hey orangey, were you going?" The biggest of the three asked, stepping right into Pumpkin's path. "home, away from your ugly mug." Pumpkin snarled. "What'd you say punk?" The biggest bullie said. "You heard me you chump." The bullie loomed over Pumpkin. Pumpkin began unnoticeably trembling. Just then the bullie swung his hand, and made contact with Pumpkin's right eye, knocking him to the ground. He was much smaller than the bullies, and could do nothing but tremble on the concrete floor. Punch after punch, kick after kick, but Pumpkin was used to it. Little did he know a friend was coming to his rescue. They heard the light tapping of small footprints, and then her voice as she yelled, "Leave him alone." The bullies turned to see an angry Mint, with her mint green sneakers, hair and skirt, standing behind them. "and what're you going to do about it Doll?" one bullie asked, taking a step closer to her. "This!" Mint drived her small leg into his shin, shattering it. Pumpkin could here as the bone split into twenty. Mint the charged at another bullied, and launched her foot up at his chin, cracking it in two, blood rapidly dripped down it. "Ay, we meant no h-harm d-doll." The biggest bullie laid on the ground and begged for mercy, but he would receive anything but. "Well, then you shouldn't have messed with my Pumkin." Mint growled and stomped hard onto his spine, snapping it into four. Pumpkin got up slowly and thanked his friend. "Whatever lets go home!" Mint, now cheery, said. Not even noticing her blood soaked shoe.
