The Forest

The Forest

A Chapter by Royal Borealis

I remember what I wore that day.  An aquamarine hoodie hid under an orange jacket. Both hoods were down. I wore a green shirt that day, with blue jeans, nothing spectacular, I guess. My shoes, my black Vans, were soaked, as I trudged through the rain, jumping into any puddle I saw.
My socks were rather uncomfortable, cold and wet, but that was my own fault. I walked along the side of the road for about half a mile. My house is rather far from the school. After that half mile, I turned to the woods, which separated this happy, friendly, kind neighborhood from my angry, unwelcoming, aggressive one.
I walked up to where the trees start, and peered through the woods. As I watched for any movement among the woodland, an unsettling feeling grew, like a chill down your spine but, much, much worse. The feeling grew on my back, and I then shrugged it off. I didn't like going into this woods, especially not alone, but you gotta do, what you gotta do, right?
I stepped into the eerie woodland, and looked around to check once more, that I was alone. When I was positively sure, I kept walking, deeper and deeper, into a dark, twisted forest. For as long as the eye could see, there were trees, trees and more trees. I've taken this route many times, with my sister, with my brother....with my....brother. Whenever I th-think of him, i-it makes me sigh, I miss him.
The woods was quiet, which was normal. It probably could scare anyone, and it sure did scare me, it did. Any-way, I finally when got out of that petriffing place, I saw a man standing at the foot of the stairs, up to my house, and as I grew closer, I saw what he was wearing.
The man wore a navy blue hoodie, pure black jeans, and silver high tops. As I grew even closer, I saw who it was.
My brother.

Oh boy. I haven't used this sight in two years. I'm gonna be putting short stories I write in school. I'm too lazy to actually get rid of the cringe-fest I wrote two years ago so if you ever need help.. more..
