In our modern society, we find ourselves playing a role. A scripted set conducted by what is deemed to be "normal". As a person who acknowledges that script, you defy the norm and there for become a conductor. You make those around you believe they know but they do not. I applaud you for putting this outward and addressing your feelings. Know that you are not alone in this. There are others around you who wear mask too.
Haydyn, thank you for sharing this with us. I think as we grow up, we all look desperately for where we "fit in". Which ends up in cliques of people who devote themselves to one kind of identity. Athletic jocks. Smart nerds. Geeks. Dark and brooding. "Cool" or "popular" or "preppy". We think, "I have to pick just one to "fit into" and stick with it, and go 100% or else I'm not a true ____."
But the reality is... everyone secretly is a mix of everything, just like you. Most only choose to show that one aspect of themselves, and hide the rest, thinking it will make them too different from their peers. But eventually you'll come to realize that people in the world don't categorize themselves into such strict personality categories. (Of course, we replace these cliques with others that are far more serious, like political leanings, religion, skin color, gender, etc. unfortunately.)
But as far as personalities... I fell into the dark/emo/outcast/geek group when I was in school. I still like rock music, Goth style, and vampires - but I also like some pop music, techno, colorful clothes, New Age, geeky stuff, and smart, scientific "nerd" topics. Secretly all of those jocks and "popular" kids have likes that they don't want others to know about that would make you more alike than you think.
So, in conclusion. Be you. Don't worry about not fitting into a strict little group, or not acting like the perfect example of that group. Be you, be unapologetic about it. Like what you like, say what you say, think what you think. You are your own category.
Super deep Haydyn (I think, I'm not really deep, so my opinion doesn't count here,) great job. I can totally relate. (you might want to delete "am" in the first line though)

Oh boy. I haven't used this sight in two years. I'm gonna be putting short stories I write in school. I'm too lazy to actually get rid of the cringe-fest I wrote two years ago so if you ever need help.. more..
