Today, I Am A TurtleA Poem by Royal BorealisToday, I am a Turtle, I will hide within my shell, I will hide in my shell because i'm afraid of what people will say, Or maybe just because I'm afraid of the story today will tell. Tomorrow, I shall be a Cat, I shall use my claws, One minute I will be a softy, the next a dangerous mess, But, I hope they will see my cause. The next day I shall be a Snake, Deadly, my fangs will be, I'll lash out uncontrollable with rage baring my fangs and hissing, No one could stop my rage, my deadly rage, and I won't accept if the offer me tea. The day after that I will be a Bird, Sweet, majestic, and fragile is what I am, I'd be free to fly away to my heart's content over the hills, the valley, Over the lakes and farms, passing by the heads of the humans and the pigs that give them ham. But, alas, today I am a Turtle, I Shall hide inside my shell, Kept from the freedom, and calm, to stay away from the rage, But mostly because I am so fearful of what today's story will tell.
