Strange Fruit begins to underscore the scene

Kat- I wonder what strange fruit is?

Winehouses Cat- Listening is easy. You let it wash over you. Take in every beat. The base and the treble. Peaks and troughs. It will never make sense at the beginning, but keep listening until the end

Dense smoke obscures the actors faces as the director takes long drags from a large pipe which it propped up before him, front and centre stage. An occasional draft disturbs the smog and the actors can be glimpsed fer a fraction of second. The director closes his eyes, inhales. Breathing out fogs the stage yet again
