Spring

Spring

A Poem by Green Eyed Devil

Lifeless, it seems
The Earth around you is changing
The start of a new season lingers afresh the air
Rain descends, light and soft at first
But the thirsting Earth summons
The downpour is harder, faster
It digs into the ground
Dislodging tiny creatures from footpaths
Destroying everything in its needless wrath
The long crooked arm swings
Back and forth, swaying with the briny air
Green pointed fingers glistening
Like diamonds under its immortal counterpart
The moon is the everlasting hope
To those who fear the darkness
Its silvery beams, light the way for Mothers
As they watch over their children
All through the night
And when the storm comes to pass
The leaves glisten with morning due
Crunching beneath the tiny pattering of feet
Those who have slumbered, awake
To find everything anew
It's in the air, the ground, the skies:
Spring is definately here
