The Pessimist's Kiss

The Pessimist's Kiss

A Poem by Roxcheek

What's this; A good mood?

But how could it be?

Nothing in my life is good,

The dark cloud hasn't stopped following me!

What's this; A smile?

At work they don't recognise me any more.

It can't be because I'm happy,

There's nothing to be happy for!

What's this; singing?

Now I know something is wrong.

Gloomy, depressed pessimists,

Definitely don’t burst into song!

What's this; a spring in my step?

There must be something causing this.

My life is as dull as it can be,

Yet I'm strangely uplifted by a single kiss.

I found this quite funny. I'm not sure if you meant this poem to be amusing. But I guess everyone takes poetry differently. Brought a much needed smile to my face.
