My Ode to my long ago broken heart...

I have been hurt many times. This peice was looking back to one of the first times I was broken...

What happened to the wishes
The hopes and dreams
Gentle good night kisses
Where did the girl go
The one that sat on her window sill
Crying, waiting for her knight and white horse
Why did all the dreams have to die
All the hopes crushed
Leaving only rain falling from the sky
As I stand in the road
Screaming to the clouds
My heart in pieces around me
My voice taken over
By a roll of thunder
And the tears streaking my face
My hair all a mess
My eyes bloodshot and red
You left me here alone
Where has all the good gone
The smiles and happy times
All lay in the gutter
My voice disappearing
My head is spinning
And I fall to my knees
Cant even beg
No words will get through
I can't even say please
I'm broken and weak
This is where you left me
As I fall amounting to nothing
My greatest fear
Becoming clear
My heart has been drained and I'm empty
Now I lay on the gravel
The rain the only sound
My eyes close to give up
Where is the knight that lifts me up
The brave man who seeks my heart
Who are we kidding
He wasn't there from the start...

A very introspective piece ;) as far as other concrit goes - and I hardly mention this, it may have helped in an aesthetic sense to separate the lines and make the font a tad bigger....maybe add a ? or two aswell ;D

But otherwise it's a very saddening and thoughtful piece ~^_^~ so don't be afraid to share more in the future!
