Worms and Maggots

Worms and Maggots

A Poem by Rowena Slade

Shoot me down.

Call me dead.

This life is worthless.

It has no end.

I want to die.

The is no point.

Death is life.

Life is death.

It's a cycle.

It never ends,

And never will.

It's a black,

Dark hole.

It goes on forever.

I want it to end.

I want to die.

But I can't.

I won't.

I want to give up,

But where would that get me?

In a hole,

In the ground,

With nothing but

Worms and maggots

For company.

It's no better

Than where I am now.

So I'll just stay put.

... For now...
