Help

Help

A Poem by Rowena Slade

I look up at the sky

I see God's face

I ask him why?

Why wont you help me?

Why don't you care?

But I hear no answer.

So I go to my room

and I think.

I think of my past,

the people that hurt me.

I say in my head,

look at what you did to me

look at the pattern of my scars.

What?

Don't you like them?

You helped me make them.

People say I should forget.

People say I should just move on.

How can I do that?

These thoughts,

They turn to night mares

and haunt me every night.

I don't know what to do.

Every where I look,

There's something there

That brings them back.

I need your help.

I'm stuck.

Stuck in this hole,

A hole you helped make.

All I see is darkness,

There is no light.

I need an angel

To help me out.

But no one cares.

They just walk on by.

They don't realize,

All I do

Every day

Is fake this smile.

This laugh

It's not real.

So the next time you see me,

and just walk on by,

Think of what you did to me.

The scars you gave me.

Think of how

You made my life

A living hell.
