The Marionette TheaterA Poem by RougeAngelSilently I lie in the dark, pliable as a rag. A single light shines upon me, I am begrudgingly yanked to my feet by unseen hands
They cheer my every move I hate what I have become, I scan the faces in the crowd, looking for a shred of kindness
As the others whirl around me, I see a man standing in the center. I struggle against my master's hold, "I am the Way.
My dark eyes clear and I see that it is the Savior and I move to take His hand My mind spins with questions. The frenzied yank of my strings startles me from my daze and I am left to choose:
Trembling I crawl away from the deadly dance of the marionettes, I am relunctantly eased to my feet by comforting hands, The imprisoning strings fall away and disappear like snow melting in the sun.
