Visions of Angels

Visions of Angels

A Poem by RougeAngel

A shadow floats by,

Just beyond the reach of my periphery.

I turn to catch a glimpse

And just as quickly it is gone.

So close but never fast enough

To catch sight of you.

I've seen you in worship, flying high above.

I've felt you next to me in my struggles and

I've seen you in my happiness,

Even during my greatest pain.

You've always been there,

A constant in the background.

I can feel you nearby,

Just like I can feel the earthly angels in my life

But when I turn to see the presence I detect next to me,

You vanish like fog burned away by the fierce morning sun

And I am left with terrestrial being that He has blessed me with

And also with an undeniable sense of peace beyond my own comprehension.

I've felt you in my battles with the one

Who would see me destroyed.

The power you can bestow is incredible

And the Evil One cannot stand in its wake.

You are truly sent by the Divine, warrior.

Only He could have given an entity such authority.

What an amazing gift it is to be able to feel you

Even if I can't see you with my worldly eyes.

I'm always looking for you, feeling for you.

So come, Heaven's celestial beings.

I will know it is you, warrior, comforter, or guardian of the earthly that I've come to know so well,

For you are forever a part of my visions of angels.

What a beautiful expression of the security and profound grace found in your words... bringing to light that which we cannot see, yet is more real that the walls that surround us. Powerful and vivid!

For a work in progress you've done a wonderful job...don't really think it needs anything else. Found it a pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing.

I like that it was short but to the point. Some people can drag on too long in a poem and in the end not have as much impact.
