Your SacrificeA Poem by RougeAngelSitting in the vancant sanctuary, My mind is focused on nothing but You. I sit before the symbol of Your sacrifice, The cross on which You laid Your life down for mine And I think of what You have done for me. Before I was even a part of this world, You died for me. You loved me before I could even say Your name. You bore the sins of the world because You Couldn't bear the thought of Heaven without us. You endured the hate of those that scorned You to save them. The price of my sin is something I could never attone for. You wiped the slate clean and forgave me through Your blood. But what can I give you in return for Your suffering? Nothing less than my heart and life will do. I give it all over to You, my Savior. I can't wait for the day that I meet you in Heaven And fall to my knees to kiss the hands and feet pierced to save me! On that day, in Your glory, I will fully realize Your sacrifice.
