Gentle Eyes

Gentle Eyes

A Poem by Roth Jordain
"

My faithful friend Liba.

"

Gentle Eyes

O gentle eyes deepest brown

In auburn hue, soft your hair,

Welcome sighs, never a frown

Show loving too, always care.

Upon your face a happy grin

Turn my heart, bend the soul,

By your grace all welcome in

From the start all anger stole.

Without pride, yes you’re true

At home’s door each day-end,

And at my side when I’m blue

It is for sure, I’ll have a friend.

Oh gentle eyes, smiling bright

In each prayer a place for you,

No surprise, you are just right

We are a pair like so very few.

Orthan Parmuk quote:

'Dogs do speak but,

only to those who

know how to listen'.

I really enjoyed this piece Roth, which clearly shows your devotion to Liba. A beauty. Love the pic you have posted. I have Solo, she loves me unconditionally, quite an old lady she is now. I inherited her from my grandson about five years ago. Your stanzas, have the feel good factor, so welcome during the challenging times we find ourselves in. May you have many happy days together with Liba.

Welcome to the Cafe, Roth. Who doesn't love a dog? My family has many dogs of different breeds and there is no better support group than them! Unconditional love they give. I'm relatively new here myself and I hope you find the encouragement and support that I have received. Lots of different styles, themes and talent. Welcome! Temp

I saw that you are new to the Cafe' so am stopping by to welcome you and to read your stuff :)
Title pic and poem all work well for me .. what better breed to get such a shot of "Gentle Eyes" ... such incredible traits in them .. i am a dog person as you can see from my pic .. that's Beauregard, the English Mastiff. Nice work using punctuation .. i am typically a free verse person; mostly because punctuation became a frustration for me :} i read this twice .. the second time out loud and paying close attention to the punctuation and the rhythm can through loud and clear. Nice job! Creative rhymes says i .. might use something less common that "blue" in V3 L3; but that was just my initial reaction ... really glad I stopped by .. I hope you find a niche .. right here at the Cafe'
