She never says goodbye

She never says goodbye

A Poem by Rossen

she never says goodbye
not really
her thief of time...
...waiting

reflections of yesterday
gloss her chambray colored eyes

she remembers the moments
the flickering porch light
shadow dancing moths
imagined kisses and slow
porch swings...

the taste of honey licked off
the side of her hand
the sensation of lemonade
splashing her toes
whispers of chimes past
hang still...

Smiling a mile,beautiful name,thank you
Some goodbyes are gritted through pain, but they are seldom meant that way. Beautiful poetry here.

The word "Summer" resonates throughout this read, is it her name, the season or just the warm aura this exudes??

I get the sense of someone's life flashing before their eyes before they die.
