Poet first

Poet first

A Poem by Rossen

how I only write for you eludes me
to the point of exploration in verse

my lady muse of silence who dubbed me poet first

I lost my steel before your waters edge
I have only simple poems to give

Oh lady of this teary lake
my silent hymns do live

may I float them across still waters
such silver cords softly strum

as you wake upon the coolness
beneath the rising of the sun

am I worthy of this humble request
my lady should they forever remain
muted locked away in this poets chest?

I think this little gem needs a title! I am poetically quenched in your muse's quest...excellent Rossen.

I think it's gorgeous, and I wonder why you keep dropping your account like this. Sometimes the most simple of poems are the best ones, loved these lines best:

Oh lady of this teary lake
my silent hymns do live

may I float them across still waters
such silver cords softly strum

as you wake upon the coolness
beneath the rising of the sun
