Velvet curtains and dust...

Velvet curtains and dust...

A Poem by Rossen

soliloquy
love or carnal lust...
a stage of forbidden drama
velvet curtains and dust
bitter smoked fresnel lenses
forsaken sheet music lay on the floor
empty gilded box seats above
glowing spectacle no more
awaiting the writer
lost to his quill and flame
scribbling with ink stained nails
soaking parchment insane
in love with his blessed muse
he so jaded free
with his passion infused
soliloquy...

I think soliloquy, when done properly, can be such an amazing piece of art, I would love to hear you read your poems, I think we are all in love with our muses, else why write at all? It's the same difference between jingles and operas, oh hell what do I think? I think you're brilliant.

Rossen, this one reminds me of the movie Amadeus. A frantic genius with a quill who can't sleep for the sake of writing his masterpieces....Very nice!

i think it is a bit of both...carnal lust but also love for the words, that make us keep the play running throughout our lives...as we act out being the poets.
love the title and "soaking parchment insane"

we do do that also...the tortured artists that we are.
