Lonely hands are talking

Lonely hands are talking

A Poem by Rossen

I watch her in the garden
sunlight on her skin
strumming melodies on her guitar
touching cords within

her lonely hands are talking
as she runs them through her hair
she gives herself away each time
I am trying not to stare

her lonely hands are talking
brushing tears back from her face
her gleaming palms of loneliness
make my heart skip pace

the way she touches me
is never quite complete
she really doesn't know me
so our fingers never meet

she caresses me with poetry
with oceans in between
I see her in a kitten's purr
I see her in my dreams

Delightfully melancholy…. Emotions can cross as many miles as they need to reach their destination.

some very different imagery in this..."i see her in a kitten's purr"

really like that line...needs a couple slight edits, but a beautiful poem...

it is that love from afar...the one we just never quite express to that person...we keep it inside...

nicely done.

I love it when men write poetry about women, the tenderness, gentile mannerisms, their fascination with her movements as she goes about her loneliness. it's really a simple, easy flowing write but it holds so much inside it. It's genuinely sweet, a gentleman's infatuation, really, quite lovely.
