Connor

Connor

A Poem by Hugh Roberts

She had a scar

like his

exactly

like his

right above the knee cap

exactly

on the right knee

Well

not exactly

his was below

the knee cap

and hers was bigger

and had tiny little scars

surrounding

but she was beautiful

and he knew

he could love her

exactly

it was good to think they had something

between them

the scar

exactly

and it was enough for him

to not know more

to forget the semantics

exactly

easiest to love someone

when you see the scar

without knowing the origin.
