Heart For SaleA Poem by Ross Emerson Realino
If I close my eyes,
Will you be turned into lies? If I swim the skies, Will you be there when the sun dies? No, you wouldn't save me. You know nothing about me, Not even a single string of my heart, Not even a single note. I tried to break it But it never failed. I'm falling faster than before. This insanity running through my veins, I crash and burn when you're around. A feeling of completeness, An innocent delight, Shed under my weary soul. What do I fear if you're not mine? Maybe I took the wrong bus But it led me straight to you. The sky won't snow. It won't happen, I know. If infatuation is a mortal sin, Now it's burning underneath my skin. Through the fire and through the hell, I hide this insanity very well. A schizophrenic longing For someone you never knew. Our eyes cross, then drifts away. Nothing to do but fly and stare. I wrote your name on a paper And it burned itself to death. I'll drown my heart into the sea, Hoping that you would see. Heart's for sale but no one wants to. Someone might like to And I hope it's you. © 2016 Ross Emerson RealinoAuthor's Note
