The Waiting game

The Waiting game

A Poem by Rosie McQzy

It's been three days
I hate the waiting game
I feel stuck in a Haze
I should move on from this pain

Who said love was even worth the wait?
Is that just what old people say?
My heart is being hardened by hate
Should the idea of love
Be thrown out at the gate?

As I listen to Taylor Swift sing
I feel as if I will never smile
And I swear I shall surely peri- *DING*

Never mind there he is!
Damn that took a while!

*surely (not "surly"....that means "bad-tempered"), but I quite enjoyed the philosophical profundity at the beginning that appears so thought-provoking, only to flip everything upside down with the subtle absurdity of the ending. Well freaking done! Got a good chuckle out of it.
