A Poem by Rozzle Bacon

It must be someone elses
Sadness,
Soaked up from long walks
Through rainy streets

From a little boys wonky smile
Calling to his mother
In sounds I cannot understand.

To my friends stifled sorrow
As her heart aches
And breaks from her eyes

To a gentle kiss
From an old love
Holding tenderness in his crumpled face

To where beauty is caught
In blindly dancing
Blindly laughing

And blindly crying
At where beauty is lost
In faces
And faces and faces
Of suffering,
Of wars and disease and famine

Of chambered
Resonating
Injustice

Searching for an excuse
To release this deep sadness
That cannot be mine
