But a PuddleA Poem by Rose DiamondThis is a little speech/poem I wrote for my Religion class based off of "Our Deepest Fear". I just want to give a huge shout out to my friends Grace and Olivia, who helped with the title and design! You aren't afraid of being worthless You're afraid of being worth it You're not scared of the bad inside of you You're scared of you You don't think you deserve to be smart, talented, beautiful, or gifted but you know what? You don't know you. When you look in the mirror, you don't see yourself the way I see you, how your peers see you, and how God sees you. You see a drinking fountain while I see a waterfall, and holding back all of that water is just gonna leave people thirsty. Keeping back that river within you isn't going to make the other fountains overflow, they'll do that when they're ready. We all will. For we were born to be oceans, glorious and powerful. But we are not split into rivers and oceans, streams and ravines, droplets and ripples. We are all part of the same water cycle, we are all meant to be big. And as we grow from fountains to waterfalls, we allow others to grow and change with us. We let others know that they are not a grain of salt in our seas, but a whole sea themselves. Oceans did not start off as oceans, they began as but a puddle.
