A World Without MusicA Poem by Rose DiamondMusic is my life, and I honestly don't know where or what I would be without it.What would the world be like Without music? What would happen to those whose blood type is C Major? Those whose hearts beat to 4/4 time? The people who speak in lyrics and breath in beats? Who would be there for you as you cry alone in your room? Who would whisper sweet encouragements in your ear When no one else is there? Or when nobody else cares? How could the voiceless express themselves When there isn't a microphone? How will the lonely find companionship, How can the sad and the depressed break through When nobody stands by their side? How could I have found confidence Without an invisible hand on my shoulder? Would I be who I am today If not for the enchanting melody Flowing through my ears and into my heart? Would I even be here? "Your music sucks!" "What is this garbage!?" "Ew! Is this even music!?" The next time those words flutter from your lips The next time you belittle someone for their taste in music Just remember: Music, to some, is more than just a song More than just a series of notes entangled with meaningless words Music is the blood flowing through our veins The oxygen we breath The roof above our heads And the sun in which we soak To many, music is life And would you really destroy a life Just because you don't like it?
