![]() FreedomA Poem by Rose Diamond![]() I've honestly lost hope for ever reaching true freedom![]() Freedom is a lie. A sweet, sugarcoated, deadly lie. Do you honestly think you choose your own path? As you're pushed and shoved down a well-worn trail, do you turn your eyes upwards, forcing yourself to believe it's the will of God? Telling yourself over and over again "This is what you want" All the while blinking back tears that have yet to even form? Believing that "Freedom" has led you down this short, overcrowded road? Freedom. False hope that allows us to imagine that we can create our own path. But can we trudge through unexplored lands with a chain around our ankles? Can we explore the truth behind this sickly sweet word when the rest of the slave line screeches their words of protest? "You're a failure" "You'll never amount to anything" "If you want to succeed, you must follow our path" True freedom is unattainable through life So is the only way to reach Nirvana To unmask the lie To experience pure freedom Through death?
