Its all go for the single Mum and Dad

Single mum a one band mum
rushing around the clock
to get everything done.
picking up the kids from school
Oh what a busy life it is
my children are hungry for a snack
hardly anytime for play
because, homework must be done.
Mum nags you won't do well in Years
to come
you're such a bright young kid
stressed out mum grabs a coffee
and a wee biscuit on her wee lap
no time to dilly tally
Its time to make the tea
with the table to set
come kids please stop fighting
get in here now oh please
will you just stop fighting
my feet are killing me
theirs never a moments rest
I could do with a break
with the funds so low
and the debts so high
I am afraid its no holidays
this year
so lonely for Adult company
I don't have a close friend
what a life for a lonely
single parent
My food is running low
but I got lucky
and found a ten pound note
tucked up in a till receipt
of to the supermarket
my local Tesco to buy
some fresh baked bread
for our supper tonight!
