Waiting for my prince charming

Waiting for my prince charming

A Poem by ROSALIND
"

the years had quickly passed by

"

Far Far away
In a castle
stood a lonely
Princess
Waiting
on her
Love
The days
turned into
weeks
Her beauty
Had gone
her white
Hair it
had shone
Her soft skin
was no more
the years
had finally
taken its toll
Dried up
like a forgotten
doll
She lay in the
dark dungeon
Her golden hair
had gone

One day her
prince had returned
He looked pale
and gaunt
but still
He remembered
His first love
It had been
countless years
before he appeared
His blindness
had delayed him
for many years
He lay stranded
and broken
until a kind
servant nursed
him to health

This He never
forgot
and when he
collected his
beautiful bride
to be
Her prince gave
Her a kiss
and this released
them from the
old woman's curse
Young again
their held
their hands
was this
a warning of
things to come
Out from the forest
they rode
faraway to
a land
that no one
New, free
at last
from
their haunted
past ......
