For you I wish

For you I wish the open fields

With endless miles of broad blue skies

The bright Summer  rays of a golden sun

And your life's rebirth with the rains in Spring

 

For you I wish white sandy beaches

Sea-swept shores with gentle waves

To see beyond to life's horizons

And hear your dreams call through windy shells

 

For you I wish a gentle stroll in leafy parks

on sun-lit days

When the light of day peeps through your windows

To stray you from your doors to walk the arcs of tree lined arbors

where lovers tend to flock

To see the frolick of playful children

with mothers in their tow

To sail in boats on placid waters

and feed the quacking ducks

 

 

For you I wish the will to sing

To lift your voice in praise

of life and all the good there is

a victory song to raise

Sing a loud and rousing chorus

Of life and love held true

Yes raise a rousing song to victory

For when there's  life there's love for you

 

For you I wish the strength to dance

May your joys never cease

To twirl among the billowy clouds or span the   windy seas

To skip along  the mountaintops and leap the sandy plains

And when the choice of life comes by to sit it out or dance

I say dance to the beat of your heart my friend

Dance to the rhythm of your feet

 

 

For you I wish the daylight sun, the orbing moon, the twinkling stars

the rising of your brightest dreams

For your fondest hopes,  your heartfelt desires, for all you wish to be

For you I wish life's richest gifts, the best there is to give
