Chapter 8

Before Ta'alir was created, there were two beings floating in the void. They stayed like that for a long time, neither moving. 

Simultaneously, the beings decided they wanted things. First, it was simple things. They wanted to see so they grew eyes. They wanted to  feel so they developed limbs. This went on until the beings were satisfied with their forms, they found that they had another want; companionship. Together, they created the world.

They populated Ta'alir with anything they could think of; creatures and lifeforms of all shapes, sizes, and colors. They made the ground of dirt and soil for life to grow. They made the sky of air and wind for life to sing. The created the Sun of fire and heat for life thrive. They created the oceans of water and rocks for life to soothe. 

Each of these creatures did not have the luxury of wants, but were forced into needs. The beings, which the new creations dubbed Nir and Fa'ar, did not understand. After watching over the world they had created for many, many years, Nir and Fa'ar grew frustrated. They took it out upon eachother.

There was fighting in the earth, sky, and waters; these days were named the Darkest Nights, and are still honored by the people of Ta'alir to this day. After this fighting, Fa'ar decided to fly far into the distance, while Nir stayed with the creatures the two had made. There was one race of life forms that called themselves the Ventra. They were worried that, left to their own devices, each creature in the world would turn against one another. Nir agreed. Not knowing what else to do, Nir set up a council of Ventra, known as the Venae, that would act as overseers of the new world.
