Do What You Are Told

Do What You Are Told

A Poem by RoseTree

Do what you are told

But I’m scared

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

But I’m angry

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

But I don’t want to

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

But it makes me feel unsafe

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

But it hurts

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

Why do I have too?

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

I’m trying

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

I just want to do the right thing

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

This feels like the wrong thing

It doesn’t matter, do what you’re told

Okay, I’ll do it your way

You’re doing it wrong

I’m doing what you told me

No, you’re doing it wrong

This is what you said to do

It’s not, do what you’re told

Okay

No, not like that

Okay

No, not like that

Okay

Why can’t you think for yourself

I just want to be good

Why do you always wait to be told what to do

Please, I just want to be good

You’re useless, pathetic

I’m trying

It doesn’t matter, just do what you’re told and stop being a burden.
