HopeA Poem by RoseTreeWinter mornings are my favourite Cold and crisp Clear skies and a sun just peaking above the horizon Perfection. It is a world so full of hope And so empty of people And pain Like I could be anyone Do anything I am ruler and subject and watcher, all at once I feel free It comes crashing down all too soon But there is no stopping the sun People flood into my perfect world And with them comes the pain The fear And suddenly I am empty once again It is strange I am full when the world is not And empty when the world is full All my insides pulled out and laid bare for the world to see The world finds them lacking And being honest? So do I For now I will wait For my next perfect dawn My next chance to be whole Unbroken Filled with hope. © 2023 RoseTree |
