Safe Harbour

Safe Harbour

A Poem by RoseTree

I am a storm in the middle of the sea

I scream

I howl

The world around me shattering and reforming rapidly

There is no-one here to see me

They are safe on the shore, unaware

Sometime a ship will brave my edges

Tossed and thrown around by my wind, by my anger and fear

Then they reach my centre, the eye

They believe that they are saved

They believe that they have found my heart

They are wrong.

Dear Rose Tree,

I loved the simple way in which you carried a great metaphor and delivered the message perfectly at the end. Indeed, the eye in the middle is so deceptive. One thinks they found their haven but they are actually in trouble. A great poem to read and I'll look forward to reading more of your poetry soon.

Why do we name these great storms?
To remember them.
I think we will remember a hurricane named Rose for years to come.
Keep storming! Well done.

What an interesting perspective, it's very intriguing. The way you've written it is dark and ominous in a very nonchalant way, like you're truly hearing the storm's thoughts. Thank you for sharing.
