What am I?

What am I?

A Poem by RoseTree

What am I?

I am red

Fire

Rage

The colour of blood

Of power and fear

Of sunsets and sunrises

Peaceful ends and new beginnings

I am a daffodil

Bright

Warm

A reminder of better things to come

To soon wilted by the frost

The world not yet ready for my glow, I will return

I am an ocean

Soft

Warm

Dark and dangerous

You do not know me

You cannot control me

I am peace

An unclenched fist

A breath slowly released

Shoulders relaxed

Calm and connected

What am I?

Above all else

I am here

I am alive

And that is beautiful.

I love how this perfectly sums up the fact that we are so many things at once, some of them even contradictory. Great imagery with each stanza.

Lovely. Each stanza a promise of something beautiful, something good.. even though intense like the first stanza..
Ah! Good to be alive , eh?!

I like all of the comparisons in this poem. I love how at the end when you state all these things are beautiful because you have all those qualities within yourself.
