Shadows of my Heart

Shadows of my Heart

A Poem by Alaric Rose
"

Literally wrote this about 30 mins or so ago, its a poem about my dearest friend.

"
Shadows at every turn,
Nagging and pulling.
An unfathomable force.
I cannot resist, I need to give in

Consuming and relentless.
It thrives as I struggle,
Unforgiving pain over and over,
In this consuming pit.

Suffocating, I start to lose it,
I start to lose hope.
The light flutters and fades.
It's all over, the end.

A hand grabs mine,
The light rushes back.
Only light remains
And him, just him.

Well, since any and all opinions are welcome, I am glad that this is the first poem that I am reviewing upon my return. Granted it was the first poem on my list in general, but it also speaks differently than what I have read before. Honestly, I like it. But I dont love it. I find it heartwarming how a friend has such an effect on you though. Very well written.
