Green Porch

Green Porch

A Poem by Anna

Holding me in your front yard
The wind in my hair
Trailing it gently over us
Veiling my eyes
Splitting the light between
Golden strands
Weaving irrevocable hurt
Into the scent of your
Heavy cologne, before the
Heavy rain
That comes to sweep me
Away, passing away
In the memory of a humble
Dip in the grass.
I ache to be back home and
God, I ache to be gone
Digging long nails into
Your jacket
As if it can bring me closer
To salvation, to you.

Dear Anna, I like the places you took me with you and I liked the memories, the want in your words. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
