Yellow Stardust

Yellow Stardust

A Poem by Anna

I dreamt about you

With uncertain images

And certain kindness.

I dreamt about you

In yellow.

Sepia and old books

The scents of you.

Banana yellow

Like my soul

When the green leaves

Of summer

Have turned brown.

Youth and water

And an orchard

Somewhere.

I dreamt about you

With apples

With bruises

With a rib missing

With sand between

My toes.

The cathedral in me

Is unfair.

I dreamt about you

In yellow

And my God

The color stings.
