Seaward

Seaward

A Poem by Anna

The sea rumbles-
thunder hugs the surface.
Waves crash ashore;
their hearts all foam and brime.
What secret sinks?
Down below the twilight pier;
asunder in the starry black.
The sea cries-
winds out on the water.
Fog curls 'cross the bay;
its soul a captain's search light.
What malice waits?
Descending to the murky depths;
caught in dragging currents.
The sea trembles-
rain prickling the blue.
Steamships blowing far away;
their essence of phantom storms.
What arcane thing?
Spiraling into velvet trenches;
it is pulled by wayward tides.

I wrote something similar to this a few months ago in regards to the sea. Nowhere near as good or as beautifully detailed as your story.Reading this I can smell the sea salt in the air

You have written a rare piece of poetry - and that is - a delightful, delicate, delicious poem of great imagery, wordplay and style - I really like your form and composition - exquisite - :-)

It is so deep and haunting. Mysterious and beautiful.

Wonderful use of words. I loved them. I am in San Diego on vacation. Nothing as wonderful as the sea.
A outstanding poem Anna.

I felt like I was out on a ship being lured through a heavy fog to my doom... Your words paint the images that everyone will have a different view of.. Thanks for taking me there with you words, thank you for sharing..
