The Mirror of Andromeda & IA Poem by Anna
For the longest time
I stood amidst a mirror; fogged and old. A layer of mist had overcome it's surface and I could not see inside it- I could not look upon it. So for a light-year I waited; till the very stone beneath me turned to moon dust. The air within me vanished and became a cosmic torrent. Budding flowers in the yellow wood fell their petals to a weightless black. So there I laid down engulfed in the gloom of no one. Where I felt what it means to disappear. Too long I waited; standing, hoping the fog would lift. Yet as evening set it's touch upon me I saw the galaxies pull back into themselves cloaking the mirror in a shadow. And it would be light-years from that moment that I would find my reflection had drifted away.
