DreamA Poem by Kelley RoseWas it a dream? You decide...The policemen at the door Lots of sympathetic friends I’ll feel your warmth no more No, this can’t be the end It’s just a dream. . . A church, the color black, People crying, I feel numb My mind won’t stay on track You’ll come home, back from. . . Because this is just a dream The next day I awake alone Your side of the bed ice cold I hear the ring of the phone Your voice asking them to hold Was before just a dream? You approach me with a smile Wrapping me in your arms I just hold you for awhile Until I hear the alarm . . .it was just a dream © 2008 Kelley Rose |
