KingA Poem by Benjamin J.G.Kings are unfortunate people. To some they are puppets, others they are tyrants. Not all kings begin as such, though. Some begin as benevolent figures. You are King.
He who is loved by the people. He who brings fortune to his world. He who lets his land prosper.
You are King.
He who took control. He who said no to the beggars. He who has never been kind.
You are King.
He whose people die for empty causes. He whose people kill thousands to reach. He who takes no note of commoners’ efforts.
You are King.
He who is hated by all. He whose Queen died to escape. He who is prepared to fight his own people.
You are King.
He who has lost the battle. He who has lost his protection. He who is ready to die.
You aren’t King. You live within the dying earth, with the Queen that once betrayed you. © 2011 Benjamin J.G.Author's Note
