With a
gentle whisper I don't say good bye. I just look into your eyes and say thank
you, thank you for always being there. You loved me through all the hard times
and the ones that made us laugh. You saw me for who I am and not for what I
had. You held my hand and led me through the darkness and you helped me find
the light. I've been on this road for much too long and it’s time for me to go
home. But till then I'm always here in your loving arms and your forever in my
heart. You taught me not to be afraid and that’s just what I shared. I will be
here to wipe away every single tear as you did for mine. I see the clouds
opening with his holy arms, bringing me away from the pain I once knew, and now
I'm free. I can see the tears form in your eyes but I don’t want you to cry for
me, I've learned a lot too. But now a gentle whisper as I am still here, I love
you too now and forever more. I’ve earned my wings and because of you I have
learned to fly.
Such beautiful words love, and a wonderful ode to friendship. I love the way you incorporated the "gentle whisper" into the beginning and end, it conveys a sense of comfort.
"I’ve earned my wings and because of you I have learned to fly."....very heartfelt.
Thank you for sharing such a personal write, in memory of one who is clearly dear to your heart. Much love, my friend. As always, well done...

Talia wasn't a girl I knew personally but was someone I got to know because of YouTube and she was also on the Ellen show. She had two terminal cancers and it was her dream to help others and to share with the world what made her beautiful. She would say things like "Makeup is my wig" and "Just keep swimming." She was and is a true inspiration and is so missed. Altho she is now passed, she left such a big gift for so many children battling cancer. Being bald can be beautiful, be confident, strong, and faithful as well as grateful for the life you have. She taught everyone that if you are only given one life, use it for good :) Sorry for the long story just thought it would be best to explain. :)

Thanks for the explanation. This was written with such raw emotion it was as if this was a friend who had passed on, not someone you got to know through YouTube...however....
Whether we know someone personally or not our compassion comes forth during times like this. She has taught you much about strength and dreams, inspiring others ...and in turn you are doing the same as you share your words and her story.

A beautiful poem for friendship. I like the positive and hopeful feel in the words. We need to be thankful for people who made us laugh and kept us a float. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
